INDICATIONS
It is indicated for neonatal sepsis, sepsis, central nervous system infection (including meningitis), genitourinary system infection, lung infection, biliary tract infection, abdominal infection and peritonitis, bone infection, burns, skin soft tissue infection, acute and chronic otitis media, sinusitis, etc. caused by sensitive Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Aspergillus spp, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella spp, Enterobacter spp, Serratia spp, or Combined with other antibacterial drugs for staphylococcal infections (methicillin-resistant strains are not effective). It can be administered intrathecally for Pseudomonas aeruginosa meningitis or ventriculitis, and aerosolized inhalation for bronchial and pulmonary infections as an adjunctive therapy. It is not effective against most group D streptococcal infections.
Adverse reactions
1. Systemic administration combined with intrathecal injection may cause leg convulsions, rash, fever and generalized cramps.
2. Higher incidence includes hearing loss, tinnitus or a feeling of fullness in the ear (ototoxicity), hematuria, significant reduction in the frequency or volume of urination, loss of appetite, extreme thirst (nephrotoxicity), unsteady gait, vertigo (ototoxicity, affects the vestibule, nephrotoxicity). Less frequent incidences include dyspnea, drowsiness, extreme weakness (neuromuscular blockade or nephrotoxicity). The incidence of hyperalgesia caused by this product is lower than that of gentamicin.
3. If hearing loss, tinnitus or a feeling of fullness in the ear occurs after discontinuation of the drug, ototoxicity must be noted.
