Adverse reactions
1.The daily dosage of this product exceeds 1g or is used continuously for a long time, it often causes cinchona reaction, which is roughly similar to salicylic acid reaction, with tinnitus, headache, nausea, vomiting, vision and hearing loss and other symptoms, and in severe cases, temporary deafness, which can often recover after stopping the drug.
2.When the dose is greater than 4g in 24 hours, it can directly damage the nerve tissue and constrict the retinal blood vessels, resulting in reduced visual field, diplopia, amblyopia, etc.
3.In addition to the above-mentioned reactions aggravated by high dose poisoning, it can also inhibit the myocardium, dilate the peripheral blood vessels and cause sudden drop in blood pressure, slow and shallow breathing, fever, irritability, delirium, etc., and most of them die of respiratory paralysis.
4.A few patients are highly sensitive to quinine, and a small amount can cause severe cinchona reaction.
5. A few patients with falciparum malaria can die from acute hemolysis (black urine fever) with a small amount of quinine.
6.Quinine can also cause rash, pruritus, asthma, etc.
