INDICATIONS
Penicillin V Potassium Capsules is suitable for mild and moderate infections caused by penicillin-sensitive strains, including tonsillitis, pharyngitis, scarlet fever, erysipelas, etc. caused by streptococcus; bronchitis, pneumonia, otitis media, and sinusitis caused by pneumococcus; and Skin and soft tissue infections caused by susceptible staphylococcus. Penicillin V potassium can also be used as a preventive drug for rheumatic fever recurrence and infective endocarditis, and can also be used for spirochete infection.
Adverse reactions
The adverse reactions were nausea, vomiting, epigastric discomfort, diarrhea and black hairy tongue. Allergic reactions include rash, urticaria and other serum sickness-like reactions, laryngeal edema, drug fever, and eosinophilia. Hemolytic anemia, leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, transient elevation of serum transamination, neurotoxicity, and nephrotoxicity are rare.
