INDICATIONS
It can be used for respiratory system infections such as acute bronchitis, acute attack of chronic bronchitis and pneumonia caused by bacteria sensitive to this product; genitourinary system infections such as cystitis, nephritis, prostatitis, epididymitis, Neisseria gonorrhoeae urethritis; gastrointestinal system infections such as Salmonella typhi infection and bacterial dysentery; skin and soft tissue infections, bone infections, abdominal cavity infections and pelvic cavity infections.
Adverse reactions
1. Gastrointestinal reactions are more common and can be manifested as abdominal discomfort or pain, diarrhea, nausea and vomiting, and loss of appetite.
2. Central nervous system reactions may include dizziness, headache, excitement, drowsiness or insomnia.
3. Allergic reactions include rash, itchy skin, occasionally exudative erythema multiforme and angioneurotic edema. A small number of patients have photosensitivity reactions.
4. A few patients may have increased blood aminotransferase, blood urea nitrogen and decreased peripheral blood leukocytes, mostly mild and transient.
5. Occasionally, (1) seizures, mental abnormalities, agitation, confusion, hallucinations, tremors may occur. (2) Interstitial nephritis manifestations such as hematuria, fever, and rash. (3) Crystalluria, mostly seen in high dose applications. (4) Joint pain. (5) Phlebitis.
