INDICATIONS
1,It is used for the treatment of scurvy, also can be used for various acute and chronic infectious diseases and purpura and other auxiliary treatment.
2,Treatment of chronic iron poisoning: vitamin C promotes the chelation of iron by desferrioxamine, which accelerates iron excretion.
3,Treatment of idiopathic methemoglobinemia.
4,Increased need for vitamin C in the following cases: (1) patients receiving chronic hemodialysis, gastrointestinal diseases (chronic diarrhea, after gastric or ileal resection), tuberculosis, cancer, ulcer disease, hyperthyroidism, fever, infection, trauma, burns, surgery, etc.; (2) patients receiving parenteral nutrition due to strict dietary control or selection, sudden weight loss due to malnutrition, and during pregnancy and lactation; (3) when applying barbiturates, tetracyclines, salicylates, or when using vitamin C as a urinary acidifying agent.
Adverse reactions
1. Long-term application of 2 to 3 g daily can cause scurvy after discontinuation.
2. Long-term application of large amounts of vitamin C may occasionally cause urate, cysteine salt or oxalate stones.
3. Rapid intravenous injection can cause dizziness and fainting.
