INDICATIONS
Doxycycline for injection is used for infections caused by the following microorganisms:
Rickettsia (Rocky Mountain spotted fever, typhus, scrub typhus, Q fever, Rickettsia pox, spleen heat, etc.);
Mycoplasma pneumoniae (pleuropneumoniae-like bacteria, Mycoplasma pneumoniae);
psittacosis and bird disease pathogens;
venereal lymphogranuloma and inguinal granuloma;
Thermospira regression (Bauauspira).
For infections caused by the following Gram-negative bacteria:
Haemophilus ducreyi (chancre);
Adverse reactions
Gastrointestinal: Anorexia, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, glossitis, dysphagia, enterocolitis, and inflammatory lesions of the anus and genitals (Candida overgrowth). These reactions can occur with oral or injectable tetracyclines.
Skin: macular, maculopapular rash, erythema. Occasionally exfoliative dermatitis. Photosensitive dermatitis.
