INDICATIONS
Ampicillin sodium for injection is indicated for respiratory tract infection, gastrointestinal tract infection, urinary tract infection, soft tissue infection, endocarditis, meningitis, sepsis, etc. caused by sensitive bacteria.
Adverse reactions
Allergic reactions are the most common adverse reactions. Skin rash is the most common reaction, which usually occurs 5 days after the drug is administered, in the form of urticaria or maculopapular rash; interstitial nephritis can also occur; anaphylactic shock is rare. Oxygen inhalation and administration of glucocorticoids and other therapeutic measures.
Granulocyte and thrombocytopenia were occasionally seen in patients receiving ampicillin. Antibiotic-associated enteritis is rare, and a few patients have elevated serum transaminases. Intravenous administration of large doses of ampicillin can cause neurological toxicity symptoms such as convulsions. Infants may experience increased intracranial pressure after application of ampicillin, manifested as anterior halo bulge.
